Under the prestigious Swachh Survekshan 2025–26, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has been honoured with a nomination in the Super Swachhta League, reaffirming its position as one of India’s leading urban cleanliness champions. Recognised as a Mentor City, NMMC is actively guiding multiple urban local bodies across Maharashtra to strengthen sanitation systems and improve their overall Swachhata performance. As part of this responsibility, NMMC officials have conducted field visits, shared best practices, and carried out on-ground assessments in cities including Kannad Nagar Parishad, Jintur Nagar Parishad, and Kaij Nagar Panchayat.

Continuing its mentoring journey, the NMMC team is currently visiting Lonar Municipal Council and Malkapur Municipal Council to support their preparation for Swachh Survekshan 2025.

During the recent visit to Lonar Municipal Council, NMMC officials evaluated key Swachh Survekshan parameters, reviewed solid waste management and sanitation systems, and shared Navi Mumbai’s proven models and operational strategies. The team also provided technical guidance aimed at enhancing service delivery, cleanliness standards, and performance metrics.

Officials highlighted that mentoring cities through practical insights and on-field evaluations plays a crucial role in achieving sustainable cleanliness outcomes rather than short-term results.

NMMC’s role as a Mentor City reflects its consistent efforts in urban governance, innovation in waste management, and community participation.
