BMC plans Rs 702-crore underground walkway beneath Mahalaxmi Racecourse, proposing a major 3-km pedestrian corridor linking the Nehru Science Centre Metro station with the Haji Ali Coastal Road promenade. The project is planned to include underground access beneath the Racecourse, escalators, lifts, parking and recreational spaces, creating a more integrated connection between Mumbai Metro, public spaces and the Coastal Road.
