In a major step toward transforming urban mobility, the Maharashtra government has accelerated plans for the Mumbai Water Metro project, aiming to build a massive 340 km water transport network across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).

The proposed Water Metro will be developed in three phases, covering key waterways across Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, and surrounding regions. The project is designed to tackle rising traffic congestion by utilizing the city’s vast coastline and creeks.
