Direct Bus Connectivity from Pune to NMIA

Passengers travelling from Pune to Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) now have a direct public transport option, with the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) starting a twice-daily bus service from Swargate.

The new service began operations on Wednesday, October 7, providing passengers with morning and afternoon connections between Pune and the newly operational airport. The move is expected to make airport travel more convenient for passengers from Pune and surrounding areas. The Times of India

Two Daily Services from Swargate

MSRTC has deployed two e-Shivai buses on the Swargate–NMIA route. The morning bus departs from Swargate at 6:15 AM and is scheduled to reach Navi Mumbai International Airport at around 9:30 AM.

The second service leaves Swargate at 2:25 PM and is expected to reach NMIA at approximately 6:00 PM.

The route covers around 126 km and includes 22 stops. Major stops include Wanaz, Chandni Chowk, Balewadi, Hinjewadi Phata and Indira College in Wakad, giving passengers from several important parts of Pune access to the airport service. The Times of India

More Services Could Be Added

While the launch provides a direct public transport connection between Pune and NMIA, passengers have indicated that two services a day may not be sufficient as airport operations continue to grow.

MSRTC officials said the Pune–NMIA service could be expanded depending on passenger response. As flight operations increase, demand for dedicated bus connectivity is also expected to rise, MSRTC Starts Swargate to Navi Mumbai International Airport Twice-Daily Bus Service.

The transport corporation has already started similar services connecting NMIA with Dadar and Borivali, as part of the wider effort to strengthen public transport access to the airport. The Times of India

Boost to Pune–Navi Mumbai Airport Connectivity

Navi Mumbai International Airport is gradually building a wider surface transport network to connect with major residential, commercial and urban centres. The new Swargate service adds an important link between Pune and NMIA, giving air travellers an alternative to private vehicles and other modes of transport.

With NMIA currently handling around 150–156 flight movements a day, stronger road and public transport connectivity will become increasingly important as airport operations expand. The Times of India

The Swargate–NMIA bus service therefore represents another step towards creating a more connected regional transport network between Pune and Navi Mumbai International Airport.
