  • General aviation flights: 32

  • Cargo handled: 22.21 tonnes

These figures highlight rapid passenger traction and balanced flight activity in NMIA’s early operational phase, with Delhi, Goa, and Bengaluru emerging as top travel corridors.


A Milestone in India’s Aviation Growth


The airport — a long-anticipated project inaugurated in late 2025 after decades of planning and development — marks a major leap in India’s aviation infrastructure. Located strategically to serve the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, NMIA aims to relieve pressure from India’s busiest airport and transform the region’s connectivity profile.


Designed with an initial annual capacity of 20 million passengers, the airport is poised for expansion with future phases projected to handle up to 90 million travellers annually along with a significant increase in cargo capacity.
