Navi Mumbai is set to witness another major step in its commercial expansion as the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has announced plans to develop a 120-acre International Corporate Park in Kharghar. The authority has already floated a tender inviting private developers to participate in the project, which will be developed over a 20-year construction and development period. The proposed corporate hub is expected to transform Kharghar into a major business destination and strengthen Navi Mumbai’s position as an emerging commercial center within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). According to reports, the project will be executed through a competitive bidding process, where the selected developer will undertake construction and development of the park under a long-term agreement.
A New Business Hub for Navi Mumbai
The upcoming development is envisioned as a modern corporate ecosystem that could rival established business districts such as Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC). Spread across 120 acres, the project will likely feature office towers, commercial complexes, and supporting urban infrastructure, creating a comprehensive environment for businesses and global companies.
The initiative aligns with the Maharashtra government’s broader strategy to decentralize commercial activity from Mumbai and encourage growth in emerging business districts like Navi Mumbai. By creating large-scale commercial infrastructure, authorities aim to attract corporate investments, generate employment, and boost regional economic activity.
Strategic Location Advantage ( CIDCO Plans 120-Acre Commercial Hub in Navi Mumbai, Floats Tender for 20-Year Development )
Kharghar has emerged as one of the most promising nodes of Navi Mumbai due to its strong connectivity and growing infrastructure. The location is close to the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport, metro connectivity, and major road networks, making it highly attractive for large companies and multinational firms looking for modern office spaces.
Experts believe that the new corporate park could significantly increase demand for commercial and residential real estate in surrounding areas such as Kharghar, Taloja, Kamothe, and Panvel, further strengthening Navi Mumbai’s role as a future economic hub.
Boost to Navi Mumbai’s Growth Story
CIDCO, the government planning authority responsible for developing Navi Mumbai since the 1970s, has played a key role in building the city’s infrastructure and urban planning framework. The proposed corporate park is part of its continuing efforts to create new business districts and support long-term urban growth.
With large infrastructure projects like the Navi Mumbai International Airport, metro network, and upcoming corporate hubs, Navi Mumbai is rapidly evolving into one of India’s most promising real estate and business destinations.
