MUMBAI — Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) marked a major milestone in India’s aviation history today, commencing commercial airside operations with the arrival and departure of its very first scheduled flights on Thursday, 25 December 2025. The New Indian Express+1
The inaugural arrival was IndiGo flight 6E460 from Bengaluru, which touched down at 08:00 hrs and was welcomed with a ceremonial water cannon salute — a classic aviation tradition reserved for momentous occasions.
