In a transformative move for regional connectivity, the Maharashtra government has given the green light to the ambitious Mumbai Metro Line 8 project, a ₹22,862 crore initiative that will directly link Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai with the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA). This landmark decision was approved by the Maharashtra Cabinet Infrastructure Committee to fast-track travel and ease congestion between the two major air hubs.

Dubbed the ‘Gold Line’, Metro Line 8 will stretch approximately 35 kilometers, featuring 20 stations along its route — with underground and elevated sections to ensure smooth, rapid transit across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
