According to the latest update, Phase 2 will include Terminal 2, dramatically increasing the airport’s annual passenger capacity by 30 million people. The broader expansion plan envisions four terminals in total, ultimately serving up to 90 million passengers per year once all phases are complete. When combined with the current capacity of the Mumbai airport, the total throughput for the region could reach around 140 million passengers annually, elevating Mumbai’s aviation status globally.Projects Today+1
Seamless Connectivity & Passenger Flow
To ensure smooth movement across terminals, NMIA’s master plan includes Automated People Movers (APMs) — advanced transport systems connecting all four terminals. This futuristic feature reflects the airport’s focus on passenger convenience and efficient transit.Projects Today
Beyond terminal connections, multi-modal access is being built through highways, metro links and even planned water taxis, creating a truly integrated travel ecosystem that rivals global aviation hubs.DD News On Air
