On Thursday, 25 December 2025, NMIA welcomed its first scheduled commercial flight — IndiGo flight 6E460 from Bengaluru — at 08:00 hrs, greeted with a traditional water cannon salute, symbolising the airport’s grand debut on the national aviation map. www.ndtv.com

A New Era in Aviation for the MMR


NMIA’s entry into commercial service brings welcome relief to India’s busiest aviation market — the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) — by adding much-needed air travel capacity alongside the existing airport. The Times of India
